What do you do at ECN and what does your day-to-day job involve?
I’m a senior software developer at ECN. My day-to-day job involves developing software systems and also managing the development team in India. The other side of my job is to liaise with my colleagues and to provide solutions to clients.
What is your background? i.e. qualifications, past experience.
I was born and brought up in Bharuch, India, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Science and Engineering.
In 2008 I made the decision to migrate to Australia to complete my post-graduate studies, Masters of Science – Internetworking at UTS, Sydney.
Prior to working at ECN, I worked as a software developer for a start-up company in Marketing Resource Management.
How do you stay up with industry trends?
Lots of reading, attending group events and learning from others experience. I always look for new things before starting any project.
What’s your favourite moment of your career so far?
An ongoing highlight of my career is when the team and I successfully deliver a product with a high return on investment.
What was your childhood dream job?
I always knew I wanted to do software development, so it would have been that or an engineer.
What’s the most important lesson you have learnt from a mistake you have made in the past?
Things will happen, keep your attitude right.
When not working, you are?
I’m the adventurous type, I enjoy exploring new places in Australia, with my wife and my family when they come and visit from India. We recently spent some time in Melbourne.
